Monica was born with an occipital encephalocele, birth defects including skull malformation, constriction of the right arm and missing fingers, and multiple handicaps including blindness, severe mental retardation and cerebral palsy. These are updates on her progress and changes in her life.

Since starting on Depo Prevara medication that will stop her menstrual period, thus decreasing seizures during that period, Monica seems to have more energy and is more alert.
