( I haven't tried this before)
I am hoping there will be someone out there who has found ways to help a person with (physical) handicaps who is depressed.
I am not talking about what drug to give them.
I am talking about what to do with "Get Out of Here!" and "Leave Me Alone!" and "Get away from me!" .
I'm talking about the person taking everything personally, seeing accusation, judgement, put downs and discouraging remarks in everything I say.
I'm talking about a person who escapes from her life in books and games and tv, who avoids therapies and exercises that would help and believes her condition is hopeless. (It may be in some ways but her condition could be better with very hard work)
How have you cheered your person up? How have you encouraged? How have you gotten them to talk?
